Obituary of Margaret Baker

Margaret Baker, age 63, Colony, Kansas, passed away on Monday, January 14, 2019, at the Allen County Regional Hospital, Iola, Kansas. Margaret was born December 20, 1955, in Grant City, Missouri, to Raymond Watts and Laura (Hollopeter) Watts.

Margaret and Dale P. Baker were married on October 6, 1979, in Minonk, Illinois. He preceded her in death on May 31, 2009.

Margaret received her GED and went on to obtain her certified medication aide. She worked at the Coffey County Hospital in Burlington, Kansas.

Margaret "Otis" was infatuated with Betty Boop. She loved to shop with the grandchildren, and she would buy them everything. Margaret was always on the go and ready for a new adventure. She was a compassionate caregiver to others, and adopted many people into her family throughout her lifetime. Margaret was known as a hard worker, with a heart of gold, and who never grew old.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband; parents; granddaughter, Marissa "Wa-Wa" Lansdown; and brother, Billy Watts.

Margaret is survived by son, Michael Paul Watts and wife, Stephanie, Colony, Kansas; daughters, Crystal Lyda and husband, Billy, Colony, Kansas, Reasa Horne and fiancé, Tony Attebery, Colony, Kansas, Bodi Baker, Topeka, Kansas; sisters, Floretta Dorssom, Jeanie McGuire, Bonnie Cuthbertson, Rose Neives; grandchildren, Paige Hall, Kaitlyn Knavel, Billy Lyda, Jr., Shaelyn Watts, Alexzandria Escobar, Kimberleigh Lansdown, Anna Davis, Gordon Watts, Ana Escobar, Noah Attebery, Lexie Attebery, Andrew Attebery; three great-grandchildren; and one special son, Matthew Culp.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, January 21, 2019, in the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel, Iola, Kansas. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 22, 2019, in the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel, Iola. Burial will follow in the Colony Cemetery, Colony, Kansas.
