Obituary of George Bushko

George Barnard Bushko, age 92, of Garnett, Kansas, passed away on Monday, December 24, 2018, at his home.

He was born November 6, 1926, in Taylor, Pennsylvania, to George J. and Katherine (Wasta) Bushko. George graduated from high school and from Drury University in Springfield, Missouri.  He joined the United States Army in January of 1945 at Ft. Dix, New Jersey, and was later honorably discharged.

George married Edith A. Carter, and this union was blessed with one son, Randall. She preceded him in death in August 1983.  He then married Norma Doty and she preceded him in death in February 2000.

George was an agent of the State Farm insurance company for most of his professional life. He loved travel, fishing, science and the arts, including attending live performances of classical works, and was also an avid bridge player.

George was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Randall George Bushko in November 1986; one brother, Joseph Bushko in November 2010; and one great grandchild, Finley Hall.

He is survived by his granddaughter, Kristen Bushko and her mother, Dolores, of St. Louis, Missouri; his sister in law Rosemary Bushko; and his adopted family, Ford Hall Jr. and wife Karen of Coffeyville, Kansas; Lindsay DeCoteau and husband Moriba of Katy, Texas; Ford Hall III and wife Cori of Independence, Kansas; Ashley Tedder and husband Roland of Kansas City, Kansas; Jonathan Hall and wife Jordan of Garnett, Kansas; Mark Hall and wife Jeni of Newport, Oregon; and Todd Hall and wife Sabrina of Denton, Texas; and eight great grandchildren, Zolene DeCoteau; Ford Hall IV and Cameron Hall; Enloe Tedder; Jeremiah Hall and Julianna Hall, and Alexa and Anjolie Hall.

Celebration of Life services will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Friday, December 28, 2018, at Garnett Church of the Nazarene.
