My sincere sympathy to the Quincy family in the lose of two of the finest people, Dixie and Buck that I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. Having grown up with Dixie it was very rewarding to become acquainted with her husband Buck. What an example of two people that were so much in love, proud of their family, thoughtful of others and meant so very much to many others! All of us will miss Buck and Dixie but what wonderful memories they have left us!!!!

Buck and Dixie were fixtures of Iola, not only were they two of the fairest teachers I encountered but through their years of retirement were two people i always enjoyed visiting with when we crossed paths, Iola was a better place because of them, they will be missed, but never forgotten........................

Coach Quincy was the only coach that I loved dearly. He and his dog Shotsy were some of my fondness memories. When running wind sprints he would sic Shotsey on the guys who were dogging it. I remember a special incident when we were coming home from a game against Coffeyville. My opposing player that night was riding a bicycle along side the bus as we were leaving, I had can of orange juice that I had finished so I opened the window and threw it at the kid. I don't know how but in a split second Coach was in my face and told me I wouldn't play the next game. I was destroyed because sports was the only thing keeping me straight. The next day he took me into the locker room and talked with me and said he knew where I was coming from and chewed me out but the said if I worked real hard and run some extra laps in the gym he would possibly play me some in our next game. I did what he said and though I didn't start I went in soon and played the rest of the game. I respected so much from that point on and even had the pleasure to ref some football games with him many years later. Rest in peace sir, I am sure the ducks are plentiful where you and Shotsey are. In Loving memory sincerely Chris Doussa

"Coach" was an awesome man, and he truly cared so much about all his players and all the students of USD 257. Yes, he was "crusty." But once you knew him you realized he was a caring, thoughtful and perceptive man. Dixie and Coach were so supportive of me. Most of his comments and professional recommendations to me would be inappropriate to post. He always gave his honest opinion! Often I would only smile, and say "no comment." But they always asked "how are (your) mom and dad and your family," because they both genuinely cared. Coach is missed! My prayers to all the family! Regretfully, due to my professional commitments I cannot be there Thursday night or Friday. My prayers to all the family!
A grateful student and friend,
