Jewell Francis Springston, age 91, Iola, Kansas, passed away at her home on July 14, 2018. She was born October 2, 1926, in Mountain Grove, Arkansas, to Noah W. Adams and Eller Blanche Sanders Adams. Jewell married Kenneth H. Springston on September 24, 1945, in Iola, Kansas. He passed away on July 15, 1987. Jewell graduated from the Iola High School in 1944. She was the activity director for the Iola Senior Center. Jewell loved to bowl, play cards, and cook. She was an excellent cook! Jewell loved people, claiming you could never get enough hugs and prayers. She loved her children unconditionally, and loved being around her family. She enjoyed roses. She will be terribly missed by her family. Jewell is survived by two sons, Kenneth Scott Springston, Iola, and Dennis Lee Springston, Erie; two daughters, Kristina Oswalt and husband, Jimmie, Iola, and Alice Webb and husband, Donald, Chanute; one brother, Johnny Adams and wife, Nancy, LaHarpe; eighteen grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren. Jewell was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one son, Roger Springston; two daughters, Sharolyn Springston and Sharla Rae Roush; and one brother, Charles Adams. A funeral service honoring Jewell's life will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 19, 2018, at the Wesley United Methodist Church, 301 East Madison Street, Iola, Kansas. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery, Iola. Memorials are suggested to the Iola Senior Center Card Club, and may be left at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, Iola, Kansas.
