Obituary of Joanna Huston

Joanna Huston, age 79, of Kincaid, Kansas, passed away on Thursday, July 5, 2018, at her home.

She was born October 2, 1938, at Excelsior Springs, Missouri, the daughter of Slone Irving and Margaret Geraldine (Buck) Murray.  Joanna graduated from Kansas University with a degree in nursing.  Joanna received a post graduate certificate in pharmacology in 1969. 

She married Ivan Jennings Orr in the 60’s in Olathe.  He preceded her in death in 1973.  She met Thomas Huston in 1977 and were married on October 5, 1999 in Selma, Kansas. 

Joanna was a member of the Girl Scouts for nine years, earning her curve bar, a member of KOPFP&F for 44 years, and a member in TOPS for 42 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Thomas C. Huston on October 17, 2016.

Joanna is survived by her daughter, Roberta Orr-Roach and wife Edna of Garnett, Kansas; one sister, Sylvia Conda in Montrose, Colorado; several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at Kincaid-Selma United Methodist Church, Kincaid, Kansas, with burial following in the Kincaid Cemetery.  The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
