Obituary of Velma Dean Bilderback

Velma Dean Bilderback, age 96, of Garnett, Kansas passed away Friday, June 8, 2018 at Guest Home Estates, Garnett.

Dean was born October 19, 1921 at Greeley, Kansas.  She was the ninth of nine children born to George Homer Bilderback and Bertha (McKay) Bilderback.  Dean grew up in Greeley, graduating from high school there.  She then went on to Parsons Junior College, where she earned her Business Degree. Dean worked as an auditor at Commercial National Bank in Kansas City for approximately 37 years.  In 1981 she moved to Greeley where she made her home until moving into Guest Home Estates in 2011.  Dean was an active member of the Greeley United Methodist Church.  She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and watching the Royals and the Chiefs.  Dean particularly loved dogs, especially Fletcher, the Golden Boy.

Dean was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and five sisters.

She is survived by her nephew, David and Janette Bilderback of Garnett; niece, Vickie and Charlie Singer of Parker, Kansas; and their families.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at the Greeley Cemetery.  The family will greet friends from 6:00-7:00 PM, Monday evening at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, Garnett.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Greeley United Methodist Church and left in care of the funeral home.  Condolences may be left at www.feuerbornfuneral.com.
