Dear Thornbrugh Family,
I am very sorry to hear of the passing of your wonderful father and grandfather. He was my father Dale Church's cousin by marriage. Paul's wife and my father were first cousins. My grandmother Ruth Marshall Church and Fern Marshall Curtis were sisters. My mother Lilia Church who lives at The Moran Manor was also very close to your parents, having hosted them at our homes in Lone Elm and Colony many times.I well member the great Marshall Reunions held at the shelter house at Lake Garnett. Please know that our family grieves with you at the loss of this very great man.
With Love,
KenChurch

I remember Paul back to the time he was County Clerk of Anderson County. Paul usually came to Garnett every year to the Memorial Day Celebration at the Garnett Cemetary. He was very active in business and politics. He will be sadly missed.

Paul and Freda lived across the street in Garnett from my folks (Don and Nadine Poss). The stories Dad used to tell about the high-jinks those men played on their wives, well let's just say it was lucky that they lived to tell the tales! Of course all 4 of them were pranksters extraordinaire to the other people in their circle. Between the beer bottles crashing when a front door was opened, short-sheeting the beds, heck a time or two beds were taken apart and set up elsewhere--not always in town!-- outhouses moved.....I can't remember them all!
I had to admire the inventiveness and creativity of their pranks.
But not only that, they were good friends helping each other through good, bad, annoying or a crisis. They maintained and nurtured that friendship to the last.
It doesn't make the pain of losing a parent any easier, but I can only imagine the reunion those four friends are having in heaven. Watch out angels, you're gonna be laughing so hard, your halos will be crooked!
My deepest sympathy for your loss.

So sorry to see the news of Paul's death. We spent many hours with he and Freda while they visited with Charlie Warbritton at Golden Heights. He was a most gracious and caring man. We'll miss them.
