Obituary of Rosalee Harrison

Rosalee Harrison, age 88, of Iola, Kansas, passed away on Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at St. Francis Hospital, Wichita, Kansas.

 

She was born January 18, 1930, in Hiattville, Kansas, the daughter of Charles Douglas and Lille Elizabeth (Webb) Baker. Rosalee graduated from Uniontown High School with the Class of 1948. Rosalee married Kenneth Earl Harrison on May 16, 1948 in Redfield, Kansas. This union was blessed with three children. They made their home in Moran, Kansas, before moving to LaHarpe. She worked for over 30 years for H.L. Miller and Son as a seamstress and with designs. They built the Harrison’s R.V. Park at LaHarpe and sold it in 1998, moving to Iola.

 

She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, quilting; she and her sister Lucille produced handmade quilts for hospitalized children for many years, as it was her great pleasure to provide comfort to them. Rosalee also enjoyed fishing, gardening and camping. Rosalee was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary at LaHarpe.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, on December 21, 2006; four children in infancy; great grandson, Colton Jones; two brothers, Keith Baker and Claude Baker.

 

Rosalee is survived by her children, Lonnie K. Harrison of Pittsburg, Kansas; Terry T. Harrison and wife Hannah of Powhatan, Virginia; and Ellen Harrison of Iola, Kansas; one brother, Paul Henry Baker and wife Mary of Chanute, Kansas; three sisters, Lucille George of Iola, Kansas; Margaret Allen of Batesville, Mississippi; and Alice Goff and husband Paul of Shawnee, Kansas; Sister-in-Law Cleta Baker; five grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren; and a new generation of great great grandchildren; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and other family members.

 

Funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m., on Thursday, May 3, 2018, at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, 1883 US Hwy 54, Iola, Kansas.  Family will greet friends at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service at 1883 US Hwy 54, Iola, on Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
