Obituary of Abram Hawley

Abram Hawley, age 42, of Kansas City, Missouri, entered eternal peace on March 20, 2018, at Hospice House, 12000 Wornall Rd.. Abe was born December 12, 1975 in Denver, Co., the youngest son of Irene and Lester Hawley, younger brother to Ryan Hawley. After leaving Denver, the family relocated to a farmhouse in Iola, Ks where they lived a wholesome life surrounded by farm animals and acres of land to explore. Alongside his brother, he spent his days catching frogs and turtles, collecting rocks, and developing his love for nature. Abe was an enchanting child with naturally sun-kissed cheeks, celestial blue eyes, a full head of blonde hair, and a mischievous, easy smile. After their time in Iola, they moved to the outskirts of Belton, Mo., where Abe graduated high school and developed lifelong friendships. One dearest friend in particular, Carrie Killingsworth, remained a steadfast, supportive, and loyal friend throughout the years. Abe had a career as an AutoCad draftsman with Henthorn, Sandmeyer and Co.. His partner described him as conscientious, dependable, and meticulous with the work he produced. Abe was proud of his educational accomplishments and career achievements. His many personal interests included D.J.'ing and was described as, "the best D.J. ever, he had a great ear, his music was always tasteful, and he never missed a beat". Those days with his friends, and the fun that was had, were some of Abe's fondest memories. Other notable interests were the KC Royals, snow skiing, house plants, embracing Christ, gaming, nature, and the outdoors. Abe had a true understanding of love and never hesitated to display it by expressing it often and being a great listener. As we all do, Abe had frailties and challenges to conquer, in spite of those challenges; he displayed strength, courage, and grace to the end. For all of those qualities, and much more, he is respected, and admired, and made us all proud, and fortunate, to be a passenger in his life. Abe always remained true to his nature by being an appreciative, humble, kind, sweet, and gentle soul. He will be missed immensely. Abe is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Irene Hawley, brother, Ryan Hawley, his cats, Sunny, Princess aka "La Freaka", Tuna, and dog Bear. He is survived by his father, Lester Hawley, and his deeply caring friend and long-standing partner, Phil Sandmeyer. He leaves behind a heavyhearted extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and his maternal grandmother. He also, leaves behind a list of friends he considered family: Carrie, Craig, Tim, Becky, Brad, Don, Katie, Jason, Charlie, and Louie. Abe's final message is, "See you on the flip side. Inspire and be kind. I love you all". Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, March 24, 2018, at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service in Garnett, with burial to follow in the Springfield Cemetery, Garnett.
