Fern Louise Orr, age 92, formerly of Iola, Kansas, passed away on March 10, 2018, in Arkansas City, Kansas. Fern was born on November 7, 1925, in Butler, Missouri, to Howard Zinn and Leona Main Zinn. On July 10, 1945, she and Leon B. Orr were married. Fern graduated from the Kincaid High School, Kincaid, Kansas. She worked in Iola for the Allen County Hospital, Dr. Pees, and Dr. DeTar. Fern was known for helping others, especially her family. She cared for others, placing others before herself. She was known to be stubborn, but was always loving and kind. Fern is survived by one daughter, Cynthia Inson and husband, Kent, Santa Fe, New Mexico; two granddaughters, Amy Thiel and husband, Eric, Winfield, Kansas; Angela DiLoreto and husband, Vince, Las Vegas, Nevada; four great-grandchildren, Chase, Jacob, Trey, and Morgan. Fern was preceded in death by her husband, Leon, on April 7, 2008, and by her parents. Inurnment will be at a later date in Highland Cemetery, Iola, Kansas, followed by a private graveside service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to Teen Challenge and may be left at the funeral home. Feuerborn Family Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
