Obituary of Roma June Fincher

June Fincher, age 82, of Sterling, Kansas, formerly of Garnett, Kansas, passed away on Monday, February 26, 2018, at Sterling Presbyterian in Sterling, Kansas.

Roma June Holt was born on March 17, 1935, at Satanta, Kansas, the daughter of LeRoy and Winifred (Black) Holt. She grew up on a farm near Lone Elm with her four brothers, graduating from Welda High School.

June was united in marriage to James H. Fincher on February 11, 1962, at the United Brethren Church in Garnett, Kansas. This union was blessed with two daughters.

She retired from the Garnett State Saving Bank after more than 30 years. She enjoyed working in her flower garden, participating in bowling leagues, painting, hanging her birdhouses and keeping a watch on them in the summers. When she worked for Security Transport with Jim, she was an avid photographer. June especially enjoyed her family reunion.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jim Fincher on June 24, 2013; two brothers, Paul Holt and Jack Holt; one great granddaughter, Eisley Vaughan.

June is survived by two daughters, Lisa Snedecor and Dan Platt of Garnett, Kansas; Stacey Corwin and husband James of Sterling, Kansas; seven grandchildren, Hannah Snedecor, Allisyn Snedecor, Zachary Snedecor, Jordan Stewart, Shelbie Corwin, Chelsie Corwin, Jayden Corwin; three great grandchildren, Zoey, Henry, and Xander; two brothers, Earl Holt of Liberal, Kansas and Dale Holt and wife Julie Ann of Leewood, Kansas; several nieces, nephews and their families.

Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m., on Thursday, March 15, 2018, at Lone Elm Cemetery, Lone Elm, Kansas.
