Obituary of Francis Lee Stotler

Francis Lee "Bud" Stotler, 91, of Iola passed away Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Windsor Place in Iola. Bud was born September 10, 1926 to Frank Emanuel and Ruth (Martin) Stotler on the family farm west of Iola. He grew up on the same farm and graduated from Iola High School in 1944. He served in the U.S. Army for two years, 1954 -1955. He was stationed in Germany as part of the occupation forces for the duration of his honorable service. He married Shirley A. Miller on June 19, 1966 in Redfield, Kansas. Together they made their home west of Iola, where they raised their family. He farmed, and worked for M&M Packing. He also drove a truck for Mitchell Transport and Cyrus Truck Line. He worked for SEKan Asphalt until his retirement in 1988. He was a member of American Legion Post #15 in Iola. He was an avid card player with his group of friends. He enjoyed taking care of his animals, including cattle, cats and dogs. He attended the sale barn in Gas every Friday. He is survived by his wife, Shirley, of the home, daughter, Rhonda Hill and husband, Rick, of Iola, daughter of the heart, Roxanne Hutton and husband, Gregg, of Iola, granddaughter, Alexandra Biggs and husband, Ben, of Moran, grandsons Joshua Hill and wife, Tara, of Chanute, Ricky Hill, also of Chanute, Brian Hutton and wife, Patricia, of Ottawa, and Darin Hutton and wife, Annie, of Overland Park, great grandchildren, Chloe Marie Hill, Emma Jolynn Hill, and Everett Hutton, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Bud was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Floyd "Jack" Stotler, and sister in law, Frances Mae Stotler. His services include visitation Tuesday, January 30, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00, at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, 1883 US Hwy 54, Iola. The funeral will be 2:00, Wednesday the 31st, also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in DeWitt Cemetery near Humboldt.
