Stephanie, you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. I have so many good memories of Dixie, and too many funny stories to tell! Dixie and Buck always supported us as students, and that continued as we developed into adulthood. They were also both frequent visitors to our IHS class reunions when we were in town, and I always loved that. I am very sorry for your loss.

Craig and I are sorry to hear that Dixie has passed. She was a wonderful, friendly, caring person - just the right qualities to be a teacher and friend. Our prayers are with Buck and all the family members during this sad time. Thankfully, we have lots of memories of Dixie through our years in Gas/Iola and of her incredible smile and her amazing spirit. Love to you all.

Blessings on your family. Buck and Dixie were Iola icons. They were always everywhere I went, Which is good, as they supported every school function and always spoke and had time to talk and ask about my family. Gretchen was the best baby sitter I ever had!! Chris was in my 2nd grade- a really nice kid who was lucky to have parents who loved and cared about him. They did more for kids in Iola than anyone I can think of! Dixie definitely had a passion for middle school children and they felt her compassion and love. I feel honored to have known them both and wish health and love to Buck and family!!

When teaching 5th grade at McKinley I became friends with Dixie. I often talked Science with Dixie. She was an inspiration and great friend. I especially appreciated her fondness of middle school children. She cared a great deal about this age group. She will be smiling done on Iola from the heavens above and watching over the middle school students from now on from her heavenly perch.

Mrs. Quincy was always smiling. I never saw her without her familiar and friendly smile. She was a kind and gentle soul. We worked for a short time in the same building (Iola Middle School) and I enjoyed listening to her many stories and anecdotes. She will be missed greatly by all who knew her. I am proud to say that I knew her and enjoyed talking with her when ever she saw me. Iola will never be the same without the Quincy's. Much love and sympathy to the Quincy family, and especially Buck. God bless you all.
Sincerely,
Marla Stranghoner Leigh

I have such memories of Dixie, of a wonderful lady who loved life and had the best smile and laughter in her heart. Such a fine role model for her own children, and to all the students who adored her. I feel very lucky she was my friend. Always supportive to me and my family. She and Buck were steadfast with their love and support through some of our darkest days. A lovely friend who will remain in our hearts. Sending my condolences, Sharon Walsh.

Dear Stephanie, Papa Buck and family,
I am going to miss your mom so much. Dixie was always so cheerful and upbeat and always, always found me where ever I happened to be so we could shoot the breeze and chat about every little thing under the sun. Her love for her husband, all of her children and grandchildren was evident in every word that she spoke. I am going to miss your dad pulling up in the truck, and seeing your mom with a big smile on her face, and all of her sweetness just shining. She touched so many lives in this community, all of whom are carrying you and yours in their thoughts. My deepest sympathy to you all.
