Obituary of Milo "Mike" Crist

Milo "Mike" Crist, age 61, of Garnett, Kansas, passed away on Wednesday, December 6, 2017, at Miami County Medical Center, Paola, Kansas. He was born September 10, 1956, in Garnett, Kansas, the son of Milo R. and Lois (Clinton) Crist. Mike graduated from Garnett High School with the Class of 1974. He then graduated from K-State University with a degree in Political Science and a minor in History. Mike married Joy AdKinson on November 28, 1987 in Garnett, Kansas. This union was blessed with two children, Kyle and Amber. He was a farmer and an avid animal lover, and enjoyed hunting. In 1977, he was involved in the American Agricultural Movement and was part of the group that drove tractors to Washington D.C. He was especially proud of his involvement in the political movement. Mike enjoyed his time with his children, from farming to handyman activities. Mike was especially involved in reading about the American Revolution. He was preceded in death by his father, Milo R. Crist; two sisters, Janice Crist and Shirley Orlando. Mike is survived by his wife Joy Crist of the home; son, Kyle Crist and wife Mary; daughter, Amber Crist and fiancé Kyle Marmon, all of Garnett; two grandchildren, Xavier and Erika; his mother, Lois Crist of Garnett, Kansas; three sisters, Connie Scott of Potosi, Missouri; Lela Scheckel and husband Gene of Owasso, Oklahoma; Karen Terrill and husband Stuart of Wichita, Kansas; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Monday, December 11, 2017, at First Christian Church, Garnett, with burial following at the Garnett Cemetery. Family will greet friends on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel, Garnett.
