Obituary of Shirley May Cloud

Shirley May Cloud, 89, of Iola passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Allen County Regional Hospital in Iola. She was born September 27, 1928 in Iola to Carl C. and Grace Marie (Miller) Orr. She married Howard W. Cloud on September 27, 1945 in Iola. They made their home in Iola and raised their three sons. She was faithful in attending the many track and cross country meets that her sons participated in. She and Howard enjoyed frequent camping and fishing trips to Roaring River, and long cruises through the countryside in the evenings to look at the wildlife. She enjoyed watching NASCAR and other sports on TV. She loved listening to country music, especially George Strait. She enjoyed baking. She will long be remembered for always being there for her family, no matter what was needed. She was a faithful companion and supportive wife to her husband, Howard. She worked at the Kress Department Store in Iola, and later at the Iola High School cafeteria until she retired. Survivors include her three sons, Rick Cloud and wife, Susie, of Houston, Texas, David Cloud and wife, Susan, of Garden City, Kansas, and Curtis Cloud and wife, Tammie, of Iola; grandchildren, Lisa Cloud, Jason Cloud, Craig Cloud, Tyler Cloud, Chrissy Powell, Ryan Cloud, Jessica Hedden; and great grandchildren, Blake Mittelmeier, Hunter Mittelmeier, Tristan Mittelmeier, Kyler Mittelmeier, Caiden Cloud, Korbin Cloud, McKenna Powell, McKayla Powell, Logan Hedden, and Bria Hedden. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and a brother, Leon Orr. Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, 1883 US Hwy 54, Iola.
