Our deepest sympathy to all of you on the loss of a great lady. I always felt Doris and I had a bond because of Kurt. She always made sure every year around the anniversary of his death that all the ornaments I had placed on his grave every year made there way back there. I remember the day she asked me if it was me that put them there and when I told her yes she cried, hugged me and told me how much she appreciated it that they made her so happy to find every year and she looked forward to seeing what I would put every year. We know she is finally at peace being reunited with Kurt and that provides some comfort during this difficult time. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her! Rest in Peace Aunt Doris!

Kevin, Cathy, Connie and families. I am so sad to hear of the passing of your mom. What a nice lady who always had something nice to say every time I saw her. She made my day at Pences when carrying out her groceries to the car. Witty, funny anecdotes and always that big Lickteig smile. Remember the memories and cherish those. I know she would like that.

Glen, Kevin, Cathy and Connie and families, Doris was one of the hardest working gals I know. She worked so many dinners at the church and cleaned the church til it sparkled. She made hands down the best cherry pie I have ever eaten and always had her signature design on the top of the crust. I don't think that the words " I can't or I won't" ever were words that she ever spoke. Her back would hurt her sometimes but that never stopped her from any task. When we got married she hosted a wedding shower at the house on the hill. Everything was perfect. She would call and we would visit on the phone and she would say I can only talk for a minute and we visited longer than we realized. She so loved all of her family. She loved to show pictures and say " I hate to be like my Mom with all her pictures and laugh." She was so proud of all of you. Finally she is at peace with Curt again. May she rest in peace
