Obituary of Claudia Diane Williamson

~~Claudia Diane Williamson (Woolsey), age 69, of Greeley, Kansas, passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2017, peacefully in her sleep.

Claudia Diane Woolsey was born in Kansas City, Missouri on September 10, 1948, to Claude William Woolsey and Mildred Grace (Smith) Woolsey.  Claudia Diane very much preferred her middle name and rarely used her first name.  She was the youngest of three children.  The eldest was Emma Lou Woolsey, the middle child was Calvin Eugene Woolsey.  She married James David Green in 1965 and gave birth to a daughter, Lora Lou Green on August 19, 1965, and a son, David William Green on December 2, 1968.  They divorced in 1971.  Diane and her two children moved to California in 1974 and she remarried Thomas Richard Williamson on Monday, December 31, 1979.  They were married for 30 years.  Thomas passed away January 2010 in Montclair, California.

Diane was also preceded in death by her parents, Mildred Grace Woolsey and Claude William Woolsey, her sister, Emma Lou Gunn, and her grandson, Jason Daniel Bough.

She was a loving and devoted homemaker, she was an avid reader, and a lover of English.  Diane was raised to have appreciation for the arts.  She was a proficient piano player, she also tried her hand at oil painting, and ceramics.  She enjoyed cross stitching and crocheting.  Diane and her sister Lou shared a love for history, and they spent many hours researching their family’s genealogy and were members of the Independence Pioneers Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution.  She was a licensed beautician, and also a double English major at Chaffey Community College and The University of San Bernardino.  She had aspirations of being a novelist and was in the process of writing an historical fiction novel about the Civil War, and “Bloody Bill Anderson”.  The novel was never finished after Diane became ill in 1999 with renal failure.  Diane loved her family fiercely, she played a huge part in the raising of her four grandchildren.  Her grandchildren often went to her for help with anything from help with their homework, a scrape on their knee, money for a field trip, or personal dilemmas.  She was always there to lend an ear and give some friendly advice.

Diane is survived by her brother, Calvin Eugene Woolsey; her two children, Lora Lou Molandes and David William Green; her daughter-in-law, Marie DiPasquale, and her four grandchildren, Christopher Dale Bough, Alicia Diane Bough, Heather Lacey Martinez, Rachel Renee Martinez; her five great grandchildren, Luna, Paige, Liam, Abel and Jason; her nieces, J. Carlene, Susan and Michelle; her nephews, Jerry, Jim, Mike, Chris, Robert, Glenn and Bryan.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 16, 2017, at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel in Garnett, Kansas.  Family will greet friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on the day of the service.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Diane Williamson Memorial Fund and left in care of the funeral home.  Condolences may be sent to the family at www.feuerbornfuneral.com
