Obituary of Santos Thompson

Santos V. Thompson, age 44, of Merriam, Kansas, entered into eternal peace on Thursday, August 24, 2017.

He was born on January 26, 1973, in Beatrice, Nebraska, the son of Ed and Mary Virginia (Reyes) Thompson. In 1991 Santos graduated from South High School in Wichita. Santos was a decorated athlete in high school receiving recognition as an All 6A Athlete. He especially excelled in baseball. Santos attended college at Wichita State University, Garden City Community College, Johnson County Community College and Kansas City Kansas Community College. He has worked as a strength and conditioning and football coach in Portland, Maine, and Coffeyville Community College and a small college in Nebraska. Santos was an avid Nebraska Football fan.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Anthony Thompson in 2012.

Santos is survived by his daughter, Mya Thompson of Overland Park, Kansas; his parents, Ed and Mary Thompson of Merriam, Kansas; siblings, Carlos Thompson of Merriam, Kansas; Christina Thompson Jones and husband Tim of Garnett, Kansas; Ramon Thompson of Garnett, Kansas; and adoring nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, August 31, 2017, at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel, Garnett, Kansas. Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Ottawa, Kansas.
