Joann Stripling, age 78, of Garnett, Kansas, passed away on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at her home. She was born December 20, 1938, in Lawty, Florida, the daughter of Wilbert and Seville (Privett) Crawford. Joann graduated from Avon Park High School in Florida. Joann married David Stripling on April 17, 1958 at Orlando, Florida. This union was blessed with three children. She enjoyed her church family and cooking. Joann was always willing to help anyone out if needed, and you could find her giving out hugs frequently. Joann was a member of the New Life Baptist Church, Garnett. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbert and Seville Crawford; and one brother, James Crawford. Joann is survived by her husband, David Stripling, of the home; her children, David Alan Stripling and Edwin Charles Stripling both of Orlando, Florida; and Gina Ann Baldwin and husband John of Scipio, Kansas; ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Friday, July 14, 2017, at the New Life Baptist Church, Garnett, with cremation to follow. The family will greet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel, Garnett.
