Obituary of Steven Edward Head
Steven Edward Head, 66 of Chanute passed away Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at his home.
Steve was born April 29, 1951 in Colony, Kansas to Thomas William "Ed" and Ila Solena (Roberts) Stine. He grew up in Iola and graduated from Iola High School. He had a wide variety of skills that he used throughout his career, including installing satellite dishes and performing maintenance for the Chanute Country Club. Beginning in 2000 he worked for Walmart in Chanute until 2013, at which time he took an early retirement due to his health.
He was an avid collector of various antiques and loved to go fishing. He will long be remembered for his generosity and desire to help others.
He is survived by wife, Rita of the home, his daughters from a previous marriage, Lisa Lema and husband Dan of Overland Park, Kansas, Crystal Hayden and husband Chris of Lincoln, Nebraska and Stephanie Ray and Jimmie Strahle of Eudora, Kansas, and his son, Travis Head of Wichita, Kansas; his mother, Ila, two brothers, C.W. Head of Iola and Doug Head and wife Carlotta of Florida; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father.
