We had the wonderful opportunity to visit Joe and Julie's home as we prepared for our marriage back in early 1992. Charlie was not a Catholic and wasn't sure about what he was getting himself into but was put at ease as soon as we sat down with them. We both have such fond memories of the time we spent with them and will always remember the advice and love that were given to us. We would like to express our sincerest condolences to you Julie, and to each of your children, grandchildren and loved ones. He will never be forgotten!

I was so sorry to hear about Joe. He was always a good friend to all my family. I will always remember his smile, his gracefulness dancing, and while he was in a bulldozer following him across terraces in Dale Peine"s fan until he stopped to visit. Treasure your memories. When I think of Joe, I can't help but smile!! That ornery look in his eyes let you know he was about to say, or do, something that would make you smile, or giggle! My dad and Joe were bus drivers together and "should have" gotten into trouble once in awhile but managed to luck out!!!! He and Julia Ann were the first ones at any need in the community and some of the warmest, kindest people I've ever known! Heaven is a little happier since Joe is there, and I hope he and Dad will visit and laugh soon !!!! Thanks, Joe for some wonderful memories !!!! XOXOXO

Joe was a cousin to my mother, Delma Feuerborn Powelson, and they were similar in age. He was always very friendly and kind to me, had a big smile, and something fun to say. Julie and all of his family. We are saddened to hear Joe passed away this morning. But in the same time we are happy he is not suffering and has been given the call to come home to heaven. We will always cherish the many times we helped milk cows in the Mader dairy barn drinking out of fruit jars. The shingling parties and the beers that cooled everyone off after a hard day. And the words Dancing and Maders just go hand in hand. We learned to work hard and play hard and laugh with Joe. So I want to raise a toast to a man that wasn't just cousin but a friend to everyone. God bless you Joe for being a large part of so many peoples lives.

Dear Julianna and family, Your husband and father was a monumental man. Our favorite memory took place when we were invited to celebrate Memorial Day. The tons of food that never stopped along with constant laughter. But most especially, sitting with you all in the back yard on hay bales and being a living rosary.
