Obituary of Sandy K. Arbuckle

Sandra Kay Arbuckle, age 62, of Iola, Kansas, passed away at her home on Friday, May 26, 2017. Sandy was born January 31, 1955 at Savonburg, Kansas. She was the fourth of five children born to Samuel and Lucille (Baker) George. She grew up in Savonburg, attending high school at Uniontown. Following school she enjoyed the 1970's. On October 25, 2001 Sandy married the love of her life, Kenneth Arbuckle at Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Sandy worked as a CNA, Med Aide, and Restorative Aide at Pinecrest Nursing Home in Humboldt for many years. Sandy was an animal lover with an extra special affinity for frogs. Her green thumb was evident in her plants and gardening. She enjoyed camping and fishing. She tolerated her kids, but loved her grandkids. Sandy was preceded in death by her father on September 17, 1979; and sister, Patricia Ann Cole and her husband, Carl. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth of the home; her children, Keith Henderson and wife, Rhonda, of Wichita, Kansas, Lacie Culbertson and husband, Roy of Altoona, Kansas, William Henderson of Tulsa, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren, Kristen Vanwinkle, Rebeccah Henderson, Anna Pierce, Blade Powers, Georgianna Powers, Kendall Pierce Jr., Lily Henderson, William Gladstone Green VI; mother, Lucille George of Savonburg, Kansas; sister, Linda Kimzey and husband, Marvin of Stark, Kansas; two brothers, Leon George and wife, Alta Jean of Savonburg and Larry George of Savonburg; aunt, Rosalee Harrison of Savonburg; uncle, Paul Baker and wife, Mary of Chanute, Kansas; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, and many close friends and other relatives. A celebration of Sandy's life will be held at 10:30 AM, Friday, June 2, 2017 at the Savonburg Community Building, inurnment will follow in the Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Savonburg.
