Today I received the YC News and learned that Jess had passed. I have great memories with Jess starting when we were in Kindergarten...riding my dads bus to school, playing on the farm or in the dairy, riding our bikes, 4H, Livestock shows...getting in more trouble than we probably should have but laughing, fighting, winning and losing together. We jointly battled as teammates in nearly every sport to represent our team or school the best way possible. The crowing moment being our last season..our success during our senior football season was anchored by Jess...his strength, grit, intelligence and quickness provided a foundation in our offensive line and he lead our team on defense in tackles as our middle linebacker. He was one of our leaders and his presence was huge for all of us. I have not doubt this was the case in his life after high school as well. As is the case but for only the luck few, thought we were not as close over the last 25 years as we were the first 25 years, regardless I count Jess as a significant person in my life. Our memories together I have and will cherish always. Blessings to your family my friend...and Welcome Home! Craig Barney Class of '84 YCHS

My heart goes out to the entire Morrison and Collins clan, too many to name. I have such fond memories of Jess and of course all of you. I'm so sorry that you all have to deal with someone leaving life so early. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you I'm unable to make it to the ceremony but trust me my thoughts and prayers are with you. What I remember most about Jess is he was always smiling. He was always the little brother tagging along trying to do what everybody else was doing but he was always smiling. That's the picture I have of him. I can tell you that almost a day does not go by that that I don't think about the great times we had in Vo-Ag and the trips we made in FFA. I can also say there is not a day that goes by that I don't think about playing football and the great playoff run we had our Senior year. I think most of us would think that though J.W. may not have been the fastest or strongest guy on the field, I think we would all agree he was the toughest! I loved Jess' passion for life and his sense of humor. He made my freshman football experience one I've never forgotten. And even though he almost beat the crap out of me my junior year, I've always had respect for him. After high school I enjoyed catching up with him whenever I was back in YC. Those simple fun summer days and nights filled with such fun. Horseback riding, and falling off, milking cows, the pig roast, and of course the famous snipe hunting.
