Helen F. Smith, age 82, of Garnett, Kansas, passed away on January 4, 2009 at her home. She was born August 18, 1926 in Franklin County, Kansas, the daughter of Floyd Dinsmore Stevenson and Dorothy Gladys (Spencer) Stevenson. Helen grew up in the Richmond, Greeley and Garnett area and married Warren Alvin Smith on January 3, 1948 in Greeley, Kansas. This union was blessed with one son and one daughter. She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Dorothy Stevenson; her husband, Warren Smith in January of 1983; and one sister, Joy Stevenson. Helen is survived by her one daughter, Helen Gayle Peters and husband Alvin of Garnett, Kansas; son, Warren Leon Smith of Salina, Oklahoma; one grandson, Brian Wayne Peters, one granddaughter, Kimberly Ann Peters, both of Garnett, Kansas; three sisters, Leeta Sweet and Judy Miller, both of Garnett, Kansas; Mona Hedges of Ottawa, Kansas; two brothers, Larry Stevenson of Ottawa, Kansas; and Floyd Stevenson of DePort, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.
