Obituary of Dorothy May Bingham
Dorothy Bingham, age 96, formerly of Iola died Saturday, Nov 5, 2016 at Centralia, KS.
Dorothy was born in Fort Scott, KS on Feb 3, 1920 to William and Oma (Eisenbrant) Crim, and was raised by stepfather Ira Bolling and her mother Oma. She grew up in the Fort Scott area where she graduated from high school in 1938. She then moved to Iola and worked in the dress factory. There she met William Curtis “Bing” Bingham, whom she married in 1939. To this union were born three children; Gerald “Jerry,” Janice, and Darrell. Following the deaths of Bing and Janice, she moved to the Topeka area to be close to her boys.
Survivors include her son, Jerry (Janice) Bingham of Topeka, KS; grandchildren Kurt, Doug and Jason Bingham, Nick, Kendra, McKenzie and Caleb Bingham, and Phillip and Shawn Cantrell; and 26 great grandchildren.
Preceding Dorothy in death are her parents, husband, daughter Janice Cantrell, son Darrell Bingham, and brothers Glenn and Howard Bolling.
The family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, Nov 12 at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service in Iola. The funeral service for Dorothy will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial is at Highland Cemetery in Iola.
