Obituary of D. Juanita Dunlap

D. Juanita Dunlap, 88, of Iola, Kansas, passed away Sunday, June 19, 2016, at Allen County Regional Hospital. Juanita was born Feb. 5, 1928, in Aldrich, Mo, the daughter of Earnest and Dorothy (Cole) Hamilton. She was raised in Springfield, MO where she graduated from high school in 1945. Following graduation, Juanita married Dolin Gott. They had 4 children, Gary, Russell, Larry and Kay, and later divorced. On Nov. 7, 1963, Juanita and Floyd Dunlap were married in Miami, OK. They owned and operated the 54 Truck Stop in Gas for many years, then later opened Dunlap Ceramic's, which provided an artistic outlet for Juanita. Her greatest love was her family and she gathered the family together as often as she could. She is survived by 3 of her children and their spouses: Russell and Francie Gott of Collinsville, OK, Larry and Bobbie Gott of Joplin, MO, Kay and Vaughn Walker of Iola, KS and one daughter-in-law, Sandy Gott of Iola, KS; 7 grandchildren, Tad (Angie) Whitney of Gas, KS, Clinton (Wendy) Gott of Joplin, MO, Samatha (Josh) Larney of Gas, Ramsey Gott of Stockton, KS, Austin Gott of Fairbanks, AK, Becca Wilkinson and Josh Green and Daren (Meghan) Wilkinson, all of Joplin, MO. Completing Juanita's family are 15 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandsons. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Dunlap, both parents and a brother, eldest son Gary Gott and grandson Scott Whitney. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 22, 2016, at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service in Iola. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 23, 2016 also at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, Juanita requested memorial donations to Allen County Home Health or Wings of Warriors Cancer Foundation for Allen County and they may be left with the funeral home.
