Obituary of Wayne Brown
Wayne Richard Brown, Sr., 68, of Iola, Kansas, died Thursday, May 12, 2016, at his home.
Wayne was born May 7, 1948, in Mason City, Iowa, the son of Theodore Paul and Leona Irene (Fewings) Brown. He grew up in Kansas City, Kansas. In 1970, he married Edna Ann Curtis and they had three children before they divorced after twenty-three years of marriage. He was lead man for J.A. Toban Construction for 18 years in Kansas City. He then had his own business, All Purpose Cleaning Services, for several years. In 1995, he moved to his farm north of Iola. Wayne was one of Jehovah''s Witnesses.
Survivors include his 3 children; Wayne R. Brown, Jr. and Dawn Russell of Fontana, KS, Shari Simpson and husband, Lewis of Moran, KS, and Theodore Paul Brown and wife, Gina of Westphalia, KS; 6 siblings, Gerald Brown of Oklahoma, Eugene Brown of California, Leroy Kinney of Drexel, MO, Marcella Mann of Tonganoxie, KS, Luella Fuhr of Harrisonville, MO and Linda Bell of Eldon, MO; 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 4 siblings, Paul F. Brown, Sr., Kenneth Brown, Margaret Kinney and Deloris Burgess and a great grandson, Gage Genoble.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, May 16, 2016, at the Waugh-Yokum and Friskel Memorial Chapel in Iola, with visitation an hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Colony Cemetery. To leave a condolence for the family, go to www.iolafuneral.com.
