Obituary of Edith Clements

Edith Louise (Gamble) Clements, age 86 of Humboldt, KS went to her Eternal home on April 5, 2016 at Country Place Living in Chanute. Edith was born August 7, 1929 in Lauden, Tennessee to Guy and Jessie (Sorensen) Gamble. She married Charles Clements on February 14, 1947 in Iola, Kansas. Charles preceded her in death on May 6, 1983. She is survived by daughters Connie Eckert and her husband Steve, Big Spring, TX, Charlene Beagley and her husband Mickey of Humboldt, KS; grandchildren, Sheila and Russell Shanks, Todd Kuykendall, Michele and Billy Meins, Shelli Ramirez and Clint and Niccole Beagley; great grandchildren, Chas and Katie Wille, Collin Wille, Justin Meins, Lauren Moore, Ryan Shanks, Reagan Shanks, Marisa, Blake and Madison Ramirez and Sunny Kuykendall; and great great grandchildren, Aaron and Landon Wille. She also had her extended family, Ray, Donna, and Carrie Salzwedel and Sara Hayhurst; sisters, Virginia Gerboth, Wanda Hawes, and brother Billy (Swede) Gamble. Preceding her in death were her parents, brother Bob Gamble and sister Margaret Ann Prater. She loved her family dearly. Edith was a homemaker who loved to quilt, embroidery tea towels and loved making Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls for her grandchildren and many other children. She loved spending time with all of her grandchildren. Edith was a fabulous pie and cookie baker and loved to share her baked goods. Edith was a member of the First Baptist Church in Humboldt and ABW. Services will be Monday, April 11, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Humboldt with burial in Mount Hope Cemetery. Memorials to the First Baptist Church may be left with Waugh-Yokum and Friskel Memorial Chapel, Iola, KS, or the First Baptist Church in Humboldt.
