Obituary of June Roeder
June Marie Roeder, 74, of rural Colony, Kansas, died Saturday, March 12, 2016, at the Allen County Regional Hospital in Iola.
June was born July 14, 1941, in Colony, the daughter of Loyal and Imogene (McCullough) Fulton. She grew up in Lone Elm, LaHarpe and Gas and graduated from Iola High School. On June 5, 1964, June married Marion Lee Roeder and they made their home at LaHarpe 27 years before moving northwest of Iola in 2002. He preceded her in death January 19, 2011. June has worked as an R.N., a seamstress for H.L. Miller and Son Dress Factory, in food service for U.S.D. 257 and she retired from Russell Stovers.
Survivors include one daughter, Theresa Strunk and husband, Dan of Iola, KS; two sons, Travis Roeder and wife, Janet of Buffalo, KS and Marvin Roeder and companion Debbie Moore of Thayer, KS; 8 grandchildren, Craig and Cory Strunk, Nathan Roeder, Amanda and Brian Roeder, Kyle Slaughter and Travis and Jessica Marie Roeder; 7 great grandchildren; 6 brothers, Donald and Ronald Fulton both of Iola, Roy, Bill and Tom Fulton all of Chanute, and Harvey Fulton of Stark, KS; and 2 sisters, Imogine Brooks of Yates Center and Rosella Payne of LaHarpe. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and sister, Terry Fulton.
Visitation will be from 2:00-3:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 16, 2016, at the Waugh-Yokum and Friskel Chapel in Iola. Cremation will follow with private family inurnment in the Gas City Cemetery at a later date.
