Obituary of Mary Woods
Mary Patricia "Pat" Woods, 86, of Humboldt, Kansas, died Tuesday, November 29, 2011, at Chanute HealthCare.
Mary Pat was born April 23, 1925, at St. Paul, Kansas, the daughter of James Roland and Eva Gertrude (Lynch) Phelan. She grew up at St. Paul where she attended St. Francis Catholic School.
On May 26, 1946, Mary Pat married Clyde V. Woods at Emmett, Idaho. They made their home at Emmett until 1949 when they moved to St. Paul. In 1953, the family moved to Humboldt from Chanute.
She was a homemaker and member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and Altar Society in Humboldt. Mary Pat enjoyed working crossword puzzles, cooking and baking, and taking walks.

Her 6 surviving children: James Woods & wife, DeAnna of Humboldt, KS, Clyde V. Woods, Jr. of Mitchell, Nebraska, Gail Johnson of Independence, KS, Kathy Butler & husband, Steven of Humboldt, KS, Jan Baker & husband, Roger of Humboldt, KS, and Daniel Woods & wife, Lori of Humboldt, KS
18 Grandchildren & 28 Great Grandchildren
She was preceded in death by 3 children, Jean Johnson, Donald Woods and David Woods, 1 granddaughter, Tiffany Michelle Woods, 4 brothers, James R. "Jim" Phelan, Robert Phelan, John Phelan and Theodore "Ted" Phelan and by 1 sister, Phyllis Phelan.
Cremation has taken place.
PARISH ROSARY & VISITATION: The parish rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, 2011, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Humboldt. Visitation will follow in the Parish Hall.
FUNERAL MASS: 10:00 a.m. Friday, Dec. 2, 2011, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Humboldt. The Reverend Bernard Gorges will be celebrant.
MEMORIAL CHOICES: St. Patrick's Catholic School or Positive Directions which is a food pantry, non-profit agency that helps people with terminal illness
