Obituary of Clifford Wilson
Clifford L. Wilson, 72, formerly of Gas and Dodge City, died Sunday, September 14, 2014, at his home in Ft. Scott, Kansas.
Clifford was born January 29, 1942, to George and Dannie (Gregg) Wilson of Gas City. He was one of 13 children. He attended grade school in Gas City and graduated from Iola High School in 1960.
He worked with his brothers as a painter and also drove a milk truck. He enjoyed playing the guitar with his brothers and friends. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved being outdoors. He loved spending time with family and friends.
On June 23, 1961, Clifford married Betty Tremain in Gas City. In 1966 they moved to Dodge City, Kansas where he went to work for Southwestern Bell for 36 years. He retired and moved to Ft. Scott, Kansas in 2003.
Survivors include his wife Betty of the home; 4 children: Bill Wilson & wife Tracy of Kearney, NE, Regina Wilson of Dodge City, Carla Wilson of Dodge City and Brent Wilson & wife Barb of Minneola, KS; 9 grandchildren: Chelsea & Emely Wilson of Kearney, NE, Sharde & Zack Pfaff of Hays, KS, Andrea & Sheena Holden of Dodge City, and Jonathon, Taryn and Harley Wilson of Minneola, KS; 6 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Shirley Marr, Darlene Burton and Martha Conley; 2 brothers, Gary & Jim Wilson; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers and 3 sisters.
VISITATION: 7:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2014, at Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 10:00 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 18, 2014, at Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola.
BURIAL: Gas City Cemetery, Gas, Kansas
