Obituary of William Wilson
William "Bill" Wilson, 84, of Iola, Kansas, died Friday, July 27, 2012, at Windsor Place in Iola.
Bill was born March 30, 1928, at LaHarpe, Kansas, the son of Hugh T. and Grace L. (Wilcox) Wilson. He graduated from Iola High School.
He served in the United States Army before joining the United States Air Force where he served twenty-four years before retiring in 1973.
On March 20, 1962, Bill married Toshiko T. "Terri" Taniguchi and they moved to Iola in 1973. He became a realtor operating as Bill Wilson Realty for several years. Terri preceded him in death on September 9, 1999.
He was a member of the Iola American Legion, Iola Elk's Lodge, Airstream Club, all Iola Masonic bodies, Scottish Rite at Ft. Scott and Mirza Shrine at Pittsburg where he participated in the MG Unit and Jesters.

1 Daughter: Julia Wilson of Topeka, KS
2 Step-Sons: Jonathan Faill and James Faill both of Franklin, TN
1 Sister: Evelyn Youmans of SanDiego, CA
He was preceded in death by a brother, Glen Wilson and two sisters, Verle Mae Burris and Maxine Hazel Leavitt.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola.
BURIAL: LaHarpe Cemetery, LaHarpe, Kansas
