Obituary of Jeanette Weseloh
Jeanette Kathryn Penno Britt Weseloh, 76, passed away August 8, 2012, at her home in Woodson County, Kansas. She was born Nov. 25, 1935, in Trego County, Kansas, to parents Daniel and Kathryn (Klusener) Penno.
She graduated from Erie High School in 1953, then attended one year at NCCC in Chanute, KS. She was united in marriage to Dale E. Britt on November 5, 1954 and later divorced. In 1968 she moved to Iola with her four children. She was employed by H.L. Miller & Son, IMP Boats and retired in 1997 after 23 years of service as dispatcher for the Iola Police Department.
On August 9, 1992, she was united in marriage to John S. Weseloh and later moved to the farm in Woodson County, KS.
She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and LWML, Iola. She loved family gatherings, playing cards, dominoes, working puzzles as well as playing the piano and reading. She also enjoyed the company of her cat Topper and her three bischons.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Everett Penno, and sisters Mayme Murphy and Mildred Sumner.
Survivors include her husband John Weseloh of the home, children Daryl Sigg & husband, Jerry of Iola, KS, Diane Audiss & husband, Mike of Benedict, KS, Michael Britt & wife, Vickie of Iola, KS, Mark Britt & wife, Gie of Chanute, KS, Jay Weseloh & wife, Connie of Yates Center, KS and Justin Weseloh of LeRoy, KS; twelve grandchildren, Ryan & Danelle, Heather, Hailey & Alicia, Jennifer, Kendra & Michelle, Tai, Erik,Jaylee & Jordan, and eleven great-grandchildren.
VISITATION: 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, Aug. 10, 2012, at Grace Lutheran Church in Iola.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 10:00 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012, at Grace Lutheran Church in Iola.
BURIAL: Highland Cemetery, Iola, KS
MEMORIAL CHOICES: Grace Lutheran Church, Friends For Life at Yates Center or Allen County Hospice.
