June L. Wichman, 89, of Iola, Kansas, passed away Monday, October 29, 2012, at Windsor Place in Iola. June was born June 23, 1923, at Deshler, Nebraska, the daughter of Vernon and Gertrude (Brown) Coit. She moved with her family to Kansas City, Missouri and she graduated from Southeast High School. On December 29, 1945, June married Dale Wichman and they made their home in Kansas City until moving to Iola in 1959 when they purchased the Ford dealership. She worked as a bookkeeper for 27 years for Wichman Ford before retiring. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, painting, and making crafts. Mr. Wichman preceded her in death July 21, 1998. SURVIVORS: Her 3 Children: Richard D. Wichman & wife, Susan, of Iola, KS, Janis Kress & husband, Charles II of Iola, KS and Julie Payne of Iola, KS 3 Grandsons: Seth, Cale & Brad Kress 2 Great Grandsons: Jacob & Tallon Kress She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Vernon Coit, Jr. and Ronald Coit. Cremation has taken place. Private family inurnment services will be in Highland Cemetery in Iola.
