Obituary of Norman Williamson
Norman Earl Williamson, 95, of Gas, Kansas, died Tuesday, June 16, 2009, at the Moran Manor.
Norman was born July 28, 1913, at rural Toronto, Kansas, the son of Wallace B. and Myrtle J. (Daniel) Williamson. He grew up in the Toronto area and attended Toronto schools.
On March 22, 1933, Norman married Martha Maxine Swilley. They made their home in the Big Sandy area near Toronto where he farmed. He later started working as an oil field pumper and continued that work the rest of his life. He worked for Texaco, several independent companies and retired from Glacier Petroleum. The family moved from the Big Sandy area to Teterville. In 1964 they moved to Eureka. His wife preceded him in death on April 6, 1990. He moved to Gas to make his home seven years ago.
Norman was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Eureka, Kansas. In his earlier years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Other interests included gardening, auto mechanics and following the migration of the monarch butterfly.

1 Daughter: Delores Jankovich of Overland Park, KS
3 Grandchildren: David Jankovich, Brian Williamson and Diana Ambrosier
3 Great Granddaughters: Bailey, Casey and Jessica Ambrosier
He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Daniel Jankovich and by four siblings, George, Elsie, Florence and Dorothy.
IN-STATE: He will lie in-state at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola on Thursday and Friday for friends to call at their convenience
FUNERAL: 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 20, 2009, at the First United Methodist Church in Eureka, Kansas. The Rev. Diana Hill and Rev. Tom Yates will officiate
VISITATION: The family will receive friends at the church an hour prior to the service
BURIAL: Big Sandy Cemetery southeast of Toronto, Kansas
MEMORIAL CHOICES: American Heart Association or Law Project for Psychiatric Rights (Psych Rights)
Memorial gifts may be left with the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel of Iola, which is in charge of arrangements.
