Obituary of Harold Umholtz
Harold E. Umholtz, 89, of Moran, Kansas, died Monday, April 21, 2014, at the Moran Manor.
Harold was born March 16, 1925, in Newton, Kansas, the son of Harry and Louise (Deschner) Umholtz. He grew up in the Hesston area and served in the U.S. Army. He later moved to Woodson County where he baled hay for area farmers. Before he retired, he worked at the ammunition plant in Parsons until it closed.
Survivors include 6 siblings, Ross Umholtz of LaHarpe, Earl Umholtz of Fall River, Alice Grisier of Yates Center, Wilma Strawder of Inman, Norma Jean Nebergal of North Newton, Dorothy Nickels of Anthony, and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, John Umholtz.
Cremation has taken place.
Private family inurnment will be at the Eastlawn Cemetery at Zimmerdale in Harvey County at a later date.
