Obituary of Margaret Walters
Margaret Louisa Tippie Walters, 61, of rural Savonburg, Kansas, died Wednesday, December 14, 2011, at Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center in Chanute.
Margaret was born August 2, 1950, in Moran, Kansas, the daughter of Earnest Albert and Dorothy Maxine (Hallam) Tippie.
She married Darrell L. Walters on January 31, 1972. She remarried in 1992.
Margaret earned her master's degree in psychology at Pittsburg State University and worked at Kaw Valley Center in Chanute.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved to bake for her family. She loved watching snowflakes fall and looking at the fresh snow. She also loved the howling of the wind, and the sound of the rain. She always greeted her grandkids with a hearty "Wazzaaap!" She loved bowling and always won when she played against her grandkids.
She will be greatly missed by her family. There are so many great memories that she left us with. "You know what? You can have all the candy you want, Mom."
She is survived by her children, Dosha Walters, Tesa Walters Knowles and Damon Walters and his wife, Daelynn; grandchildren, Brett, Ryan, Aaron and Taylor Knowles, Ashley and Michael Perkins and Karlie and Dean Walters; siblings Alberta Tippie Rock and her husband, Roy, Jeanne Tippie Weide and her husband, Steve, and David Tippie; and numerous nieces and nephews whom she adored.
