Obituary of Mary Tate
Mary J. Tate, 69, of Iola, Kansas, died Tuesday, December 1, 2009, at the Kansas Heart Hospital in Wichita, Kansas.
Mary was born December 30, 1939, in Neosho Falls, Kansas, the daughter of John Ira and Ruth Mary (Smith) Vest. She moved to Iola.
On November 7, 1955, Mary married Larry Tate. They made their home in Iola and he preceded her in death on November 16, 1974.
She worked at several jobs but spent a number of years working for Country Lanes.

4 Half-Sisters: Betty Rice, Rebecca Scobee, Ruth Ann Shaw, and Lucille Nelson
4 Grandchildren: Kenny Davis, Kristin Atwell, Cody & Seth Sanford
5 Great Grandchildren: Trevor & Matheau Atwell, Landon Davis, and Morghan and Braelyn McCarthy
She was preceded in death by 2 infant sons, Christopher & Daniel, 4 brothers, William, Robert, John Jr., and George Vest, 2 half-brothers, Richard & Bradley Nichols and a half-sister, Joan.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 1:30 p.m., Saturday, December 5, 2009, at Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola. The Chaplain Lloyd W. Houk will officiate.
BURIAL: Highland Cemetery, Iola, Kansas
