Obituary of Marjorie Riebel

Marjorie Marie Riebel, 83, of LaHarpe, Kansas, died Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at Diversicare of Chanute. Marjorie was born November 27, 1930, in Piqua, Kansas, the daughter of John and Mary (Bruggeman) Weber. She grew up on the family farm northeast of Humboldt and attended Humboldt schools. On January 17, 1949, Marjorie married Earl J. Riebel at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Humboldt. They made their home south of Iola until 1959 when they built their home south of LaHarpe. Marjorie enjoyed cooking and sewing and being a homemaker and mother. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Iola. SURVIVORS: Her husband of 65 years: Earl Riebel of the home 7 Children: Lawrence Riebel & wife, Joy of LaHarpe, Jerry Riebel & wife, Pam of LaHarpe, Joe Riebel & wife, Sherrie of Iola, Christine Ruby & husband, William of LaHarpe, Virginia Utley & husband, Duane of Piqua, Marilyn Wagner & husband, Billy of Iola and Harold Riebel of Piqua 2 Sisters: Pauline Riebel of Humboldt and Eleanor Riebel of Iola 16 Grandchildren & 22 Great Grandchildren She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Leo Weber and sisters Helena Weber, Theresa Riebel and her twin Margaret Karr. VISITATION: 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 20, 2014, at Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola. ROSARY AND MASS: The parish rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 21, followed by the celebration of the funeral mass at 10:30 a.m., both at St. John's Catholic Church in Iola.
