Julia Marie Rea, age 94, formerly of Iola, Kansas, died Tuesday, September 15, 2009, at Brunswick Nursing Home in Brunswick, Missouri. Julia was born June 24, 1915, at Neosho Falls, Kansas, the daughter of Hugh A. and Stella Marie (Schaede) McDaniel. She grew up at Neosho Falls. On October 4, 1941, Julia married William E. Rea in Kansas City, Missouri. Following his honorable discharge from the service after WWII, they made their home in Iola. He preceded her in death on November 17, 1997. She attended the Calvary United Methodist Church and enjoyed her family, baking, crocheting and teaching those skills to others. SURVIVORS: 2 Daughters: Mildred Sharp & husband, Lawrence "Bo" of Keytesville, MO and Elora Manheim of Douglass, KS 6 Grandchildren: Stacey Sharp, Dawn Rea, Crystal Batista, John, James and Holly Roper 11 Great Grandchildren: Cambelle & Austin Sharp, Josiah & Levi Daniels, Leilani Batista, Rebecca, Bailey, Christopher, Kailyn, Riley and James Roper, II 2 Nephews: Harley McDaniel of Columbus, KS and Jerry McDaniel of Bodin, Maine She was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Rea, parents, two sons, Hugh and Edward Rea, one brother, Loyd McDaniel and by a nephew, Harold E. "Danny" McDaniel. FUNERAL SERVICE: 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 18, 2009, at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola. The Rev. Gene McIntosh will officiate.
