Obituary of Clarence Pollet
Clarence Claude Pollet, 91, of rural LaHarpe, Kansas, died Sunday, May 5, 2013, at Windsor Place in Iola.
He was born September 18, 1921, in Coffeyville, Kansas, the son of Clarence Chester and Minnie M. (Parkhurst) Pollet. He graduated from LaHarpe High School and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. While in the Army he worked as a clerk directly with General Eisenhower and his staff as they traveled and fought in Europe.
On October 27, 1945, Clarence married Dorothy M. Heimberg at the LaHarpe Methodist Church. They lived in Powell, Wyoming for three years before returning to this area. He worked for the LeHigh Portland Cement Company until it closed and then worked as a supervisor for E.B. Construction for 13 years. He also farmed and had lived on the present farm southwest of LaHarpe since 1962. His wife preceded him in death on March 26, 2003.
He was a member of the Laborers' International Union of North America Local #1290.

17 Grandchildren, 32 Great Grandchildren and 7 Great Great Grandchildren
FUNERAL SERVICE: 10:30 a.m., Thursday, May 9, 2013, at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola.
BURIAL: LaHarpe Cemetery, LaHarpe, Kansas
