Obituary of Rose Phipps
Rose Ann Phipps, 67, of LaHarpe, Kansas, died Thursday, March 8, 2012, at Olathe Medical Center.
Rose Ann was born July 21, 1944, at Leon, Iowa, the daughter of Ernest and Mary (Purdue) Owens. She grew up at DesMoines, Iowa.
On March 31, 1962, Rose Ann married Ronald E. Phipps. Her husband worked construction and consequently they made their home in numerous communities. They retired in 1998 and moved to Iola where they lived until their home flooded in 2007. After the flood they moved to a place just south of LaHarpe.
Rose Ann worked a number of years for King Radio in Paola and Olathe. She enjoyed cooking and oil painting.

2 Brothers: Ronald E. Owens of Perry, Iowa and Ricci Owens of Jamaica, Iowa
1 Sister: Reva Owens of Rippey, Iowa
7 Grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and a sister.
VISITATION & GRAVESIDE SERVICE: Family and friends will meet at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola at 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 12, 2012, for visitation before leaving for graveside services at Highland Cemetery in Iola at 11:30. Pastor Steve Traw will officiate.
Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel of Iola, is in charge of arrangements.
