Obituary of Lawrence Mueller
Lawrence "Larry" Norman Mueller, 81, Iola, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2014.
He was born Jan. 9, 1933 in Tampa, the son of H.F.K. Mueller and Matilda (Bielefeld) Mueller. He graduated from Tampa High School in 1951. He served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956, stationed in Japan. Upon returning from the service, he worked as a salesman for Arnholz Coffee Co. He married Ruth Lueker in Wichita in 1958 and they moved to Iola in 1961. He later worked for Hans Flowers in Chanute and Holloway's Surge Milk Co. He operated a dairy farm since the early 70s.
Larry is survived by his wife, Ruth; two sons, Tom Mueller and wife Carla, Iola, Scott Mueller and wife Shellie, Iola; two daughters, Kim Howland and husband Steve, Lawrence, Susan Platt and husband Donnie, Iola; three sisters, Agnes Steinert, Hutchinson, Paula Fike, Ramona, Doris Ott, Golden, MO; 11 grandchildren, one step-grandchild, three great-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, Arnold, Erick, Werner, Lloyd and Art, and one sister, Alice Winter.
VISITATION: 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, August 8, 2014, at Grace Lutheran Church, 117 E. Miller Rd., Iola.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 9, 2014, at Grace Lutheran Church, 117 E. Miller Rd., Iola.
BURIAL: Highland Cemetery, Iola, Kansas
