Obituary of Ricky McVey
Ricky Lee McVey, 55, of Iola, Kansas, died Tuesday, May 3, 2011, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center St. Francis Campus in Wichita.
Ricky Lee was born July 23, 1955, in Iola, Kansas, the son of Dale Eugene and Glennis Lea (Schaeffer) McVey. He graduated from Shawnee Mission North High School in 1974. He served in the United States Marine Corp from 1974 to 1978. He served in the United States Navy from 1979 to 1981. He served in the United States Army from 1981 to 1984. He served in the Kansas Army National Guard from 1984 until 1999.
Ricky Lee graduated from Cowley County Community College in 1989. He worked as a mechanic for the U.S. Postal Service in Wichita and has been working as a mechanic for the Kansas Department of Transportation in Iola since 2007.
On December 24, 1981, Ricky Lee married Latona Arn. They later divorced.
He was a member of the LaHarpe V.F.W. Ricky Lee was a just man, very selfless in his ways, always there for others.

1 Grandson: Martain James Wade
He was preceded in death by his sister, Jill Elaine McVey in 1976, his step-mother, Zella R. "Midge" McVey and his step-father, Jerry W. Enloe.
VISITATION: 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, May 6, 2011, at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 7, 2011, at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola. Chaplain Lloyd W. Houk will officiate.
BURIAL: LaHarpe Cemetery, LaHarpe, KS
