Obituary of Jesse Mendoza
Jesse Mendoza, 84, of Humboldt, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2013, at his home surrounded by his family.
Jesse was born October 29, 1928, in Chanute, Kansas, the son of Bernie and Evarista (Gutierrez) Mendoza. He grew up in Chanute.
On April 3, 1948, Jesse married Rebecca Ysusi at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Chanute. They made their home in Chanute until moving to Humboldt in 1956. Jesse worked for Harry Byers Concrete and Santa Fe Railroad in Chanute before working 23 years at Monarch Cement Company in Humboldt. In 1965, he and his wife opened Las Palomas in Humboldt and operated it until he retired in 2002.
His memberships include St. Joseph Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus in Humboldt. Jesse enjoyed watching sports.
