Obituary of Carol Marker
Carol Maurine Marker, 83, died Wednesday, November 26, 2014, at Windsor Place in Iola.
Carol was born December 21, 1930, in Centerville, Kansas, the daughter of Harry and Minnie (Kline) Knight. She grew up at Centerville and graduated from Parker High School in 1948. She continued her education two years at Ursuline College in Paola and received her teaching certificate. She taught at Round Mound and Keokuk Rural Schools near Centerville.
On Oct. 8, 1949, Carol married James Samuel O'Brien. They had six children and followed his construction career. They lived in Burlington when he died July 3, 1963. She moved to Bronson and raised her family.
On Sept. 18, 1980, Carol married Cecil Marker and they made their home in Neosho Falls and later Yates Center. He preceded her in death March 11, 2010. She moved to Moran to be near family.
She enjoyed quilting and hunting fossils with her grandkids.

2 Brothers: Warren Knight of Gardner and Roger Knight of Centerville
12 Grandchildren & 34 Great Grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, infant daughter Anna Marie O'Brien, step-son Steven L. Marker, grandsons Eric James O'Brien and Brit Grewing, and 8 siblings, Kenny, Harold, Willard, & Wendall Knight, Frances Knight, Enid Simpson, Thelma Price & Carolyn Kuder.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 2:00 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 29, 2014, at Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola, where the family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.
BURIAL: Cedarvale Cemetery, Neosho Falls, Kansas
