Obituary of Shirley Long
"I Love You This Much"
This is my journey. I was raised on a farm west of Iola. I was one of ten children born to Merrill W. Baker, Sr. and Louise R. (Rachel) Brown Baker.
I had eight brothers, Merrill,Jr., Gary, James (Stillborn), David, Allen, Carl, Kenneth, & Jim. Then finally after all these boys, a little sister, Louise, was born.
When I was 18 years of age I gave birth to Loretta Ann. Then came Theodore,Jr.(Teddy), David Wayne, Harold Eugene, and my baby girl Denise Marie. I so enjoyed my (27) grandchildren, (42) great grandchildren & (3) great, great grandchildren.
I lived in Iola, Humboldt, Chanute, Colorado & Texas. After becoming ill, I lived at Vintage Park in Neodesha, Ks. for a short time. My final days were spent at Diversicare Nursing Home in Chanute, Ks.
Always remember "I love you this much."
Remember the good times, enjoy life, it goes quickly.
I finished my journey on earth, and now I'm on a heavenly journey.
I'm not gone, I will see you again someday. I'll always be in your memories and in your hearts.
Thank you to Dr. David Guernsey & Staff, Vintage Park & Staff, Diversicare & Staff, Gentiva Hospice & Staff. To all of our family & friends who gave love, support and prayers. Thank you, we couldn't have gone through this without you.
And most of all to our heavenly father who sustained us.
