Glenda Laver, "Pug", age 64, of Moran, Kansas, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family Monday, October 10, 2011. She will always be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother. Glenda was born May 29, 1947, in Kansas City, Kansas to Ezra and Mary Phillips. Glenda accepted Christ at an early age. Her faith guided her throughout her life and it was evident to all who knew her. She glorified God in both her life and through her death. She was united in marriage to Gene Laver on January 26, 1991. She is survived by 5 children: Eddie Goodman, Richard Goodman, Ron Goodman, Karla Boots, Brian Laver and 7 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father Ezra, mother Mary and sister Barbara. She is survived by 5 siblings, Fayetta Phillips, William Phillips (Darlene), Marla Phillips, Mike Phillips (Suzy),and Jim Phillips (Diane). Visitation will be Thursday, Oct. 13, 2011, at Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola between 1:00 and 2:00 p.m. with services at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery east of Humboldt. Memorials are suggested to Hospice Care of Kansas. Memorial gifts may be left with the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel of Iola, which is in charge of arrangements.
