Obituary of John Larney
John Johnson Larney, 73, of Iola, Kansas, died Friday, March 20, 2015, at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in Wichita, Kansas.
John was born July 21, 1941, in Little Axe, Oklahoma, located in Cleveland County, the son of John and Annie ( Johnson ) Larney. He graduated from high school in Chilocco, Oklahoma, where he learned the printing trade. After graduation he moved to Iola and worked for Norman Printing for 44 years before retiring. He was married to Betty Fosdick on July 25, 1970.
John was an avid Oklahoma Sooner football fan. He also enjoyed coaching and refereeing soccer, fishing, riding his bike, collecting golf balls and Griswold iron skillets.
He was a member of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma.

2 sons: Jason of Iola and Joshua and wife Samatha of Gas City
1 sister: Ida Ataddlely of Shawnee, Oklahoma
half-brother: Simon Larney of Konawa, Oklahoma
half-sister: Shirley Walters of Oklahoma
4 grandchildren: Zeph, Micaiah, Keaton, and Konner
mother-in-law: June Fosdick of Iola
2 aunts: Fannie Hernandez and JoAnn Carney
He was preceded in death by 4 sisters, Linda Bear, Rachael Bear, Johnny Mae Alford and Sally Faxico.
VISITATION: 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel.
SERVICES: 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel with burial in Highland Cemetery.
