Obituary of Elsie Johnson
Elsie Mae Johnson, 85, of Iola, Kansas, passed away Friday, February 7, 2014 at Via Christi Medical Center St. Francis Campus in Wichita.
Elsie was born September 29, 1928, at Meade, Kansas, the daughter of Robert Henry and Mabel Viola (Trahern) Whan. She grew up in the Meade area.
On January 15, 1946, Elsie married Clifford Potter, Jr. They later divorced. She and Richard E. Johnson were married July 17, 1962 and made their home in Iola. Elsie had worked at Menegay's Restaurant and IGA in Iola. Mr. Johnson preceded her in death April 3, 2002.
Elsie enjoyed cooking, embroidery work and writing letters to her pen pals.

She was preceded in death by 2 sons-in-law, John Drake and Randy Nelson, and 2 brothers, LeRoy Anderson and Edwin Anderson.
VISITATION: 6:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014, at Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 10:00 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014, at Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola.
BURIAL: Highland Cemetery, Iola, Kansas
MEMORIAL: Colony Christian Church
